Sets allow users to group data points together based on shared characteristics, enabling to analyze and visualize subsets of data separately from the rest. Sets can be either dynamic or static. Without the application of set actions, sets categorize data into two distinct parts, similar to the functions of filters, highlighting, and URLs. However, when set actions are utilized, sets become a variable capability that can be combined with filters and calculated filters to achieve advanced interactions.
The following part is an example of the use of set action to see the sales percentage of selected state.
Step 1. Create a set based on states.
Step 2. Create a sales map and sales percentage bar chart.
In sales percentage bar chart, drag created set into color, and make a quick table calculation based on sum of sales.
Step 3. Create a dashboard using the two created chart. Then add a set action into the dashboard, in the set action, choose source sheets as the map (Sheet1), target set as the set we have created.
Step 4. Now let’s interact on the dashboard, when you drag and select on the map you will see the sales percentage changed dynamically.
