The choice of the best chart in Tableau depends on the type of data you want to visualise and the insights you want to convey. Tableau offers a wide range of chart types to accommodate different data scenarios. Here are some commonly used chart types in Tableau:

Bar Chart (recommend)
A bar chart is useful for comparing categorical data or displaying the distribution of a single variable.

Line Chart (recommend)
Line charts are effective for showing trends over time or comparing multiple variables over a continuous axis.

Scatter Plot (recommend)
Scatter plots are suitable for examining the relationship between two continuous variables and identifying correlations or clusters.

Pie Chart
Pie charts are useful for displaying the proportions of different categories in a dataset.

Map
Tableau’s mapping capabilities allow you to create interactive maps to visualise spatial data or geographical patterns.

Heat Map (recommend)
Heat maps are helpful for representing data density or highlighting patterns in large datasets through colour gradients.

Tree Map
Tree maps display hierarchical data in nested rectangles, allowing you to visualise proportions and hierarchies simultaneously.

Box Plot
Box plots provide a summary of the distribution of a continuous variable, including median, quartiles, and outliers.

Gantt Chart
Gantt charts are commonly used for project management, displaying tasks, durations, and dependencies.
