This course covers Tableau Creator functionality required for new Tableau users

ABOUT THIS COURSE

This course covers Tableau Creator functionality required for new Tableau users. It starts with simple visualisations and moves to an in-depth look at the different chart and graph functions, calculations, mapping and other functionality.

The lessons are organised into modules that provide conceptual information, how-to steps, follow me (where the students follow the instructor using Tableau) and tutorials on each subject. The workshops provide the opportunity to visually analyse data, build Interactive dashboards and share them with others.

Audience

Tableau end users and analysts.

Follow Me session to assist in your understanding of both chart types.

Heat map and Highlight table exercises.

Challenge to build on your skills.

Outcome

You will understand the differences between Heat map and Highlight table, how to create them and what they are best used for.

Lesson

Show the different types of calculations and understand potential issues for text and numeric fields, to ensure that the data types are the same. How to aggregate the result of the calculation and how to use an already aggregated field, the available functions for date fields.

How to include logic using both IF and CASE and how to allow for NULL data.

Lab

Follow Me to assist in your understand of calculations.
