NSW Department of Planning & Environment streamlines data analysis and refreshes monitors with MIP.
The NSW Department of Planning & Environment is the state government department tasked with creating structured strategies for future development of the state. The Department has a vast amount of data that contains valuable insights such as population growth, housing approvals, construction completions and progress of new developments.
Due to exponential data growth, the department was struggling with data volumes and a varied range of data. Accessing the data for presentation internally or externally was an extremely difficult and time-consuming task.
MIP assisted the Department’s team to use Alteryx’s advanced data preparation functionality and Tableau’s visual analytics platform to redesign the monitor interfaces.
“Where it had been taking the team around two full weeks each quarter to source and blend the data, this can now be completed and uploaded in a matter of minutes”, said Daniel Brake, Manager, Data Governance and Reporting.
